After months of applications, interviews, questionnaires and lots and lots of waiting, we finally got the word: Darren and I are moving to Qatar. I got a job as an EFL instructor at a post secondary institution in the capital city, Doha. Darren will look for work once we arrive.In the meantime, we're trying to prepare ourselves for this relocation while life continues. I'm working on the independent research portion of my MA and will teach an intense academic preparation summer program starting in mid June. Darren continues to teach ESL at Brock, finishing up right about the time we are to board a plane for the Middle East.
It saddens us to think about the friends and family we will be leaving behind, but there will be visits...and the Internet...to keep us connected. We're excited about this adventure and what the next few years hold for us.
