About 4 months ago, Darren and I made our first purchase together...we bought what like to call the Jag. It's a welcome addition to our almost-family. It's a Dirt Devil Jaguar, exactly like the Dirt Devil Scorpion, but much more fun to say. [ Try it for yourself: Jag…Scorpion…the Jag…the Scorpion. See? Much more fun! ] And, believe it or not, I (Larissa!) put it together myself. Yup, that was a proud moment.
Until we bought this vacuum, I had been cleaning my apartment with the Dustbuster that Grandma loaned me. While I don't have a lot of carpet, this was a very lengthy task. You see, the Dustbuster has only so much power and I wouldn't even finish the entire room before it had to be recharged. That's when I decided to 'splurge' on a vacuum. (Well, half a vacuum; I'm so cheap!!) Let me tell you, this Jag sure would have come in handy back when I got that sunburn that nearly killed me and was peeling everywhere. ..although the dustbuster did do a good job on my bed.
Anyway, today I took the Jag out for a spin. Every time I do that, I have the same sickening realization: I am a dirty pig! It's amazing all the stuff that collects between those carpet fibers! No, amazing isn't the word I want - disgusting is more like it.
Invariably each time I see that I vow to never let so many weeks pass between vacuuming episodes, but when the Jag has to travel between my apartment and Darren's, that's easier said than done. Actually, it lives here most of the time so I have no excuse other than pure laziness, but if I weren't so darn honest you'd have believed me!
So here's to the feeling of being able to sit on my floor without the fear of finding my butt covered with the hair that I've shed over the past 3 weeks when I get up! Thanks, Jaggy!
